Focus 2023 Church Camp

Mark your calendar and start getting excited about Focus - our 2023 church weekend away. For the whole WAC community, across both our congregations and all age groups, FOCUS will be a time to enjoy quality time with our church family with teaching, worship, and lots of fun activities.

Our Guest Speaker will be Rev'd Dr Graham Stanton who will lead us in studies of 1 & 2 Samuel on the theme of "Defeating the Enemies of Faith and Faithfulness".  Focus will run from 9am Saturday March 11 to 12.00 Sunday March 12. There will be a kids program run by OAC Ministries and youth activities on Saturday afternoon/evening (details tbc). We'll run our program at the local Anglican Church in Inverloch. For this camp, we'll each find our own accomodation although some of our meals and morning/afternoon tea's and kids snacks will be provided as part of our program together. Free camping is available in the Inverloch church grounds, although facilities there are limited. Otherwise you may like to gather with one or two others and book accomodation through booking.com or airbnb or stay in a local motel (the RACV hotel is nearby too)..... 13th March is a public holiday so you could make a long weekend of it and stay on til Monday.

2pm: On the Beach: Creation, Environment & People. Reflection & activity. For all ages. Led by Richard Connelly. (Parents need to supervise their own children)
3pm: Surfing (Led by Louise Sterling, Parent supervision required).
3pm: Walk along the beach (for those who prefer not to try surfing). Led by Tracy Lauersen.
6.30pm: Youth event, Movie Night, dinner provided. Led by Jack Beamish @ The Steenholdts in Inverloch - we'll give everyone the addess at camp.
6.30pm Dinner for any who want to join in - also at Meg and Allan Steenholdts: we'll give everyone the addess at camp. Dinner provided (Pizza's *tbc* no need to rsvp as we will order takeaway when we know numbers). BYO drink. (Please also BYO food if you have special dietary needs)

11.00 Munch (Morning Tea and Lunch combined)

If you are staying for the rest of the long weekend, feel free to organise and invite others to activities after the camp officially ends - to make the most of our time together.
